But Tuesday, the UT color commentator received recognition for his performance on the court. His prep alma mater, Bearden High School, retired his jersey.
Bertelkamp played for the Bulldogs from 1974-6, thrilling fans with his instinctive quickness and dexterity. He told the Sports Overtime team he was honored to be the sixth Bulldog to have his jersey retired.
