Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The CAK Warriors made it to the state quarterfinals in 2013 and are looking for more success in the 2014 season.
Head coach Rusty Bradley believe his young quarterback, sophomore Cole Smith, will be able to translate his playoff experience into more wins this season.
Smith took over the starting quarterback job part way through the 2013 season. Despite a 4-6 regular season record, Smith led the Warriors to playoff victories over Gatlinburg-Pittman and Johnson County. The Warriors' season ended when they were defeated by eventual state champion Alcoa in the state quarter finals.
The Warriors finished the 2013 season with a 6-7 record, but three of those losses were by a touchdown or less. Coach Bradley thinks the experience gained by Smith last season will be enough to turn heartbreaking losses into wins in 2014.
