WARTBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Optimism is in the air at Wartburg High School.
With a slew of starters returning--8 on offense, 8 on defense to be exact--the Bulldogs are a confident group heading into a new season.
Toney Brawner is entering his third year as the team's head coach. He'll lean on his experienced squad to improve on last year's 2-8 mark.
"All the experience that our young guys gained last year will help us this year because we're returning quite a few starters," Brawner said. "
"That helps with that 2-8 season. Maybe we can turn it around this year."
Brawner also says his team's quickness will be one of its strong suits.
Wartburg opens up the season August 29 at Rockwood.
