KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The expectations for Fulton this year can't go any higher.
Fulton claimed last year's Class 4A state title, and virtually everyone is back from that championship team.
Anything short of a state championship will be a disappointment for the Falcon faithful.
Despite being the favorite to win it all, despite already having that ring, head coach Rob Black says his players remain hungry.
"They've done a good job handling that, and that was my worry coming out of last year," Black said.
"Are our guys going to be complacent or are they going to be mature enough to handle success? And all indications are they are mature."
Among the talent returning for the Falcons is speedy tailback Daryl Rollins. Rollins says the desire to go all the way is even higher.
"I feel kind of hungrier than last year cause we've got a target on our back because we've got a lot of people gunning for us. So, it's kind of bigger," Rollins said.
Fulton has won 4 state championships in football, with all four coming since 2003.
The Falcons open up the year August 22 at Powell. The game will be televised on MyVLT as the State Farm Rivalry Thursday Game of the Week.
