KNOXVILLE (WVLT) -- After what many would call the best season in school history, the CAK Warriors will look to the air to get into the 2011 postseason.
The Warriors threw for over 3,000 yards in 2010, but quarterback Quinn Epperly has left for Princeton and passes the torch to junior Charlie High.
When High's number was called last season he stepped up big for the Warriors;. against Loudon High threw for over 400 yards and 6 touchdowns.
CAK returns three starters on offense and two on defense. The Warriors have their three leading receivers back from 2010 -- Davis Howell, Josh Smith and Franklin Murchison. The trio combined for 31 touchdowns and just over 2,200 receiving yards. Senior linebacker Colby Maddux will lead the Warriors defense, which suffered a blow in spring practice when senior defensive lineman Clay Powers suffered a torn ACL.
For the Warriors to go farther in the playoffs they will have to knock off Alcoa. The Warriors were the only team to hold Alcoa to under 30 points last season.
