RUTLEDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- At first glance, the Grainger Grizzlies' last two seasons appear nearly identical.
But according to head coach Mark Briscoe, they couldn't be more different.
Sure, the squad from Rutledge finished 2-8 in both 2009 and 2010. But Briscoe is quick to point out that the Grizzlies were blown out in nearly every contest during the first season, while they lost several close games in the second.
This year, the focus is on continuing that improvement and turning it into wins.
Five starters return on each side of the ball for Briscoe, who is in his 17th year in Rutledge. The Grizzlies will need to get the most out of their large junior class if they hope to increase their win total in 2011.
