KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- After finishing 7-5 the Catholic Irish fell to Columbia Central in the second-round of the state playoffs in 2010. The Irish hope to have even better luck this season.
If the Irish wish to return to the playoffs they will need some new faces to step up on both sides of the ball. Catholic only returns three starters on each side of the ball.
One of those starters is last season's leading rusher junior Nolan Coulter on offense. On defense two of Catholic's leading tacklers Nick Bonfini and Patrick Conaty are two of the returning starters on the defensive side of the ball.
Third year head coach Scott Meadows feels the skill position players are going to be a strength for the Irish this season.
