KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- It might be a different shade, but Lenoir City's Camion Patrick has the opportunity to continue wearing orange.
The Tennessee football staff has offered the standout wide receiver a scholarship. Patrick, a junior, is a part of the 2013 signing class.
"Coach (Jim) Chaney (UT's offensive coordinator) contacted Coach (Mike) Zeller (Lenoir City's head football coach)," Patrick told Local 8 Sports Wednesday afternoon.
"I was in the middle of basketball practice and he (Zeller) came over and told me. I use to watch them (Tennessee) play all the time, and I know they like to throw the ball a lot and I've always wanted to play for them," Patrick continued.
After playing quarterback as a sophomore at Clinton High School, Patrick shined this past season at Lenoir City. He had 41 catches for 771 yards and five touchdowns. Patrick was just as dangerous running the ball. He averaged nearly ten yards a carry on 49 attempts.
As for his immediate prep playing future, Patrick said he's "looking forward to getting bigger, getting better, and getting the ball and scoring touchdowns."
