KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Mitch Mitchell has resigned as Central High School's boys basketball coach.
Mitchell told Local 8 Sports Friday afternoon "to do the kids right, I need to back away."
Mitchell said that it was time to step aside because the passion and energy to do the job the right way just wasn't there.
He coached the Bobcats for two years, posting a 35-25 record.
Mitchell will continue to teach at Central.
