Maryville contains Young, cruises to Rivalry Thursday win

KNOXVILLE (WVLT) -- Maryville running back Shawn Prevo ran for four touchdowns Thursday, leading the Red Rebels to a 34-14 win over Bearden on the State Farm Rivalry Thursday Game of the Week.

Prevo stole the spotlght from Bearden tailback Devrin Young, who committed to Tennessee Wednesday. Young scored a touchdown, but the Bulldogs struggled to generate offense in the second half, thanks in part to a methodical Maryville offense, which chewed away the clock.

The loss is Bearden's first of the season, while Maryville improves to 5-1.

But he looked so good against Sweet Valley High! He is quick though, especially on the sweep when he is in the open field he can be dangerous. Bearden needs more weapons. The announcer was hilarious. One question, why can't Knoxville teams build an entire stadium and not just a small half one?

Good game for Maryville! If Young is going to play for Vols, he needs to hold onto the ball better. Also, to the announcer for Bearden, Way to show sportsmanship. Most announcers are bias to the teams. Let the cheerleaders have a chance.

Superstar commitment 1 td, true freshman 4 td's!!! Guess the media and Bearden hadn't learned that they had yet to play a team with any talent this year.
