KNOXVILLE (WVLT) -- After a tumultuous time at Tennessee, you couldn't blame Nick Reveiz, Jarrod Shaw, Chris Walker and Cody Pope for resting on their laurels and taking some time away from the game.
Instead, the quartet led a football camp in North Knoxville this weekend.
The "Tennessee Experience" is a chance for kids ages 7-15 to receive individual instruction from the gridiron veterans. Not only is the camp helping the players improve -- it's also turning some of them into Vol fans.
"I held out being a Tennessee fan for three years, but I finally fell into it," said 12-year-old Eric Middleton. "It's pretty fun to play with the Tennessee players."
The players had fun, too.
"It's been incredible," said Reveiz. "It makes you realize why you play football."
"Just getting back down to the basics and the fundamentals -- that's what we're trying to teach."
Reveiz has been active in the community as he plays the NFL waiting game. Since he was not selected in April's draft, he plans to sign with a team after the work stoppage.
Walker and Shaw left immediately after the camp for Connecticut and the start of their UFL careers. Both players will play for the Hartford Colonials. The UFL season starts in August.
