INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WVLT) -- Members of the Tennessee Athletic Department spent more than 10 hours in front of the NCAA Committee on Infractions Saturday, responding to 12 major violations committed by the football and basketball programs.

“We are glad we had the opportunity to present our case." Chancellor Jimmy Cheek said in a written statement released after the hearing. "We feel it was a fair hearing, and we look forward to the resolution of this matter.”

Former Tennessee basketball coach Bruce Pearl was the final participant to leave the meeting room, departing at approximately 7:20 p.m. after about five hours of interviews by the committee. Former UT football coach Lane Kiffin and the football program endured approximately five hours of questioning as well.

Pearl said the hearing was difficult and that the saga was far from over, as Tennessee will learn of its punishment in the next three months or so.
