Prince Undergoes Successful Surgery

( -- Tennessee basketball trainer Chad Newman announced that sophomore guard J.P. Prince underwent an arthroscopic procedure to his left shoulder this morning. The outpatient procedure was performed at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. A transfer from Arizona who will not be eligible under NCAA transfer requirements until mid-December, Prince is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks.

The 6-foot-7 Prince averaged 2.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 31 career games at Arizona. The 2005 Tennessee Class 3A Mr. Basketball led White Station High School to three state championships as a prep star in Memphis.
