Clarksville, TN.(WVLT-TV), It's often been said Pat Summitt can coach players of either gender, well Friday in Clarksville the coach got the chance, leading her son Tyler's AAU team:
Tyler:"...She was coming to my high school games saying she could help us out, so I said OK mom lets see it, so she started coaching our AAU team , I can feel the pressure, but we're tying to earn our spots and she ain't gonna show me any favoritism."
Whether it's Guys or gals, Pat coaches the same way preaching defense and rebounding and whatever you do, don't tell her you can't get the job done."
Pat:"..Your heard can't, don't ever say can't to me, all these young guys want to be players, it's good for them to go up against the best players."
It's been a while since the NCAA's winningest coach has lost a game going a perfect 6-0 during last years NCAA tournament on the way to a national title, but it happened Friday with her AAU team coming up on the short end of the scoreboard."
Pat:"..obviously I'm competitive, I hate to lose, but I think we're gonna learn from this and we're gonna grow from this and these guys will go back as better players and smarter players."
