(WVLT) - It may be Football Time In Tennessee, but folks are still finding time to talk and hype-up this year's men's Basketball Team, under the direction of 3rd year Coach Bruce Pearl, who by the way, has recently signed his new extended and bigger [financially] contract.

Part of the men's 2007-2008 Basketball Schedule has been set, and Coach Pearl was asked on Wednesday about the high expectations going into this season, with especially Chris Lofton as a Senior.

The team got together yesterday to practice before they leave for over a week to Eastern Europe where in addition to some site-seeing, the team will play several exhibition games with local teams.

Coach Pearl says he's excited about the extra work and happy the team gets to see apart of the world, many don't get to experience.
He also talked about the excitement leading into this year's season, where the team for the first time in a long time may start-out in the Top-10 in the polls.

The News Sentinal & will be sending Mike Griffith with the team to Eastern Europe next Wednesday, August 8th ... Along the way, expect to see, hear, and read, special reports from Mike on the team's European Experiences.
