East Tennessee native shoots down Vols

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Antwaine Wiggins matched his career high with 24 points and added 8 rebounds as College of Charleston beat Tennessee for the second straight year, 71-65, on Wednesday night.

The Cougars (8-1) were down 13 points in the opening half, but used a 13-0 run midway through the final period to take control and send the Volunteers (3-6) to their fourth consecutive loss and sixth in the past seven games.

Wiggins scored 16 of his points after the break for the Cougars, who last season defeated Tennessee 91-78 and earlier this season won at Clemson, 72-69. Andrew Lawrence added 14 points for Charleston.

Jordan McRae led Tennessee with 19 points. He hit a 3-pointer with 1:00 left that cut the Cougars' lead to 68-65, but the Vols couldn't get any closer.

The sports at UT bring in plenty of money to waste on a "committee". I agree that the coaches at UT may not be the best but there are not many great college coaches wanting to come to UT right now.

Cant wait til UT spends millions on another "Search Committee" to find the "best" coach and fit for our imploding University. They've screwed us 3 times in five years for millions! No wonder we raise tuition. Feel sorry for the everyday student having to pay for this waste of taxpayer dollars!
