KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The agent for former Tennessee All-American Chris Lofton is close to completing a deal that would send him back to play in the Turkish Basketball League.
Agent Jared Karnes told The Knoxville News-Sentinel that Lofton would play for Besiktas Cola Turka, replacing injured star Allen Iverson.
Besiktas is bringing Lofton in to be its primary scorer with Iverson expected to be out for at least the next couple of months.
The terms of Lofton's deal have not been disclosed. Lofton has been playing for the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League.
Lofton's new TBL team also features former Vanderbilt All-SEC player A.J. Ogilvy.
