Harrison reinjures knee, return not known

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (release) -- Jenny Moshak, assistant director of sports medicine at the University of Tennessee, provided an update Tuesday evening on the status of injured Lady Vol basketball player Isabelle Harrison.

Moshak said an MRI revealed on Tuesday that Harrison had reinjured the lateral meniscus in her left knee. The 6-foot-3 post player from Nashville’s Hillsboro High School suffered the setback while attempting a left-handed layup on a fast break with 5:11 remaining in the first half of Monday night’s contest vs. second-ranked Notre Dame. She did not return to the game.

Harrison did not practice on Tuesday and won’t on Wednesday. Further consultation will determine the course of action for the second-leading rebounder (8.3 rpg.) and third-leading scorer (10.0) for the No. 9/10 Lady Vols.

Harrison had missed practice on Saturday and Sunday leading up to the Notre Dame game. She did, however, participate in the team’s shoot-around on Monday and was in the starting lineup for the 17th time in 19 games.

Harrison scored six points and pulled down five rebounds in 13 minutes before leaving the game vs. the Fighting Irish.

Tennessee (16-4/7-0 SEC) returns to action on Thursday with a 7 p.m. contest vs. Mississippi State (9-11/1-6 SEC) at Thompson-Boling Arena. CSS will have the telecast, and ESPN3 will carry the game online.
