KNOXVILLE (WVLT) -- The Vols will be minus their leading scorer when they take on Auburn tonight at Auburn. Scotty Hopson, who fell durig practice on Tuesday and sprained his left ankle, did not make the trip to the plains on Wednesday.
X-rays were negative, but the training staff felt it more important for Hopson to stay back and receive more treatment on an injury they're calling a lateral sprain of the left ankle.
Also nursing a sore ankle is the teams second leading scorer, Tobias Harris. The SEC freshman of the week did make the trip, but could see limited play against an Auburn team which is 8-13 overall and 1-6 in league play.
Tip-off against the Tigers is 9:00pm. on ESPN2.
Tennessee guard Scotty Hopson sprained his left ankle in practice Tuesday.
Trainers performed an x-ray as a precaution.
Hopson leads Tennessee in scoring with 16.5 points per game. He has scored in double figures in every game but two this season.
