Lady Vol signee named Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Clarksville forward, and Lady Vol signee, Bashaara Graves was named the state's Gatorade Player of the Year on Thursday.

Shortly after receiving the honor, Graves then led her Clarksville team to a 64-48 win over Memphis Central in a class AAA state quarterfinal game.

In the game, Graves poured in 28 points and hauled down 22 rebounds.

Clarksville is now 37-0.

The 6'2" Graves entered the state tournament averaging over 21 points and 11 rebounds a game.

Later this year, Graves will play in the McDonald's All-American Game.

ESPN rates Graves as the fifth best player in this year's signing class.
