Connecticut is back at No. 1. UConn replaced Baylor at the top of the women's college basketball poll by The Associated Press on Monday. The Huskies received 37 of 40 first-places votes, with No. 2 Stanford getting the other three. Baylor fell to No. 3, followed by Tennessee and Texas A&M. Completing the top 10 are: Xavier, DePaul, Notre Dame, Duke and Michigan State.
The Huskies spent a record 51 straight weeks at No. 1 before losing to the Cardinal on Dec. 30 and dropping to No. 2 for seven weeks. UConn had been moving closer to No. 1 before the Lady Bears lost to Texas Tech on Saturday. This is the 153rd week that UConn has been ranked first.
Georgia rejoined the poll at No. 22 after routing then-No. 19 Kentucky. Penn State fell from the rankings.
