LEXINGTON, Ky. (WVLT) -- He grew up wearing orange and idolizing John Ward.
But now, Neil Price wears blue and mans the microphone for one of Tennessee's SEC rivals.
Price is the radio broadcaster for Kentucky's baseball and women's basketball teams.
A Morristown native, Price grew up attending UT football and basketball games and imitating the calls of legendary Voice of the Vols John Ward. The iconic broadcaster served as the early model for Price's style of calling games.
Price attended college at Walters State and MTSU, broadcasting for both schools' athletic departments while he received an education.
IMG College heard Price's work and offered him the opportunity to take the microphone in the Bluegrass State. He accepted, and six years later, he hasn't looked back.
Price, 33, says it isn't weird wearing the colors of another SEC school and that he's thankful for the opportunity. He says friends tease him occasionally, but that they've taken a greater interest in Kentucky athletics since he's so involved with the Wildcats.
