KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Tennessee forward Jeronne Maymon will not play for the Vols Saturday at Pittsburgh, although he has passed the necessary number of classes.

Maymon still has to wait for a five-day grace period to elapse on Tuesday before he is allowed to play, according to multiple sources close to the University.

While the grace period is largely a technicality, University of Tennessee academic officials are insisting the Vols honor it. Sources speculate the UT administration is exercising extreme caution in light of the ongoing NCAA investigation centering on the basketball program.

Maymon, a transfer from Marquette, will likely play his first game at Tennessee Tuesday, when the Vols host Oakland.
