Banner recruiting day for Tennessee basketball

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Cuonzo Martin and the Tennessee basketball program received a big boost this weekend.

GoVolsXtra is reporting the Volunteers men's basketball coach received an verbal commitment from Robert Hubbs.

The 6'5" shooting guard from Dyer Co. is the No. 12-ranked recruit in his class by 247Sports, the website reports. Rivals.com considers him a five-star recruit.

Hubbs was in Knoxville over the weekend, visiting UT, along with another highly touted recruit, Jonathan Williams III.

But the day wasn't done for Martin and the Vols. At 9 pm, via his Twitter account, A.J. Davis. announced his intentions to attend Tennessee.

The Buford (Ga.) High School prospect is the son of former NBA hoopster Antonio Davis.

Davis, 6'8", is a power forward that also considered Clemson. He had offers from Georgia Tech and Georgia as well.

Rivals ranks Davis as a three-star prospect.

He is the third player to commit to the Vols' class of 2013.
