Tennessee defeats Lincoln Memorial 76-67

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (school release) - Trae Golden notched 22 points to go along with eight assists and four rebounds as the Vols topped Lincoln Memorial, 76-67 in their final exhibition game. The Vols open the regular-season on Friday vs. UNC Greensboro at 7 p.m.

Four Vols scored in double-figures including Cameron Tatum (13), Jeronne Maymon (11) and Skylar McBee (11). Maymon also notched his second double-double in as many exhibition games with a game-high 11 boards.

Tennessee led by as many as 22 in the second half, but saw the lead narrow to as few as four with 7:09 left but UT stemmed the Railsplitters tide as Golden made his fourth 3-pointer of the game.

Lincoln Memorial was led by Jake Troyli, who had a game-high 25 points. Desmon Johnson had a double-double for LMU with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The Railsplitters are ranked preseason No. 5 in NCAA Division II.

UT outrebounded LMU 45-34 and made 12-of-31 from 3-point land. That mark of 12 treys equalled the most by the Vols for all of last season.
