Tony Jones leaves Alcoa

ALCOA, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Former UT assistant head coach Tony Jones has resigned his position as head basketball coach at Alcoa high school.

Jones coached on Bruce Pearl's staff at Tennessee for six years, the Vols made the NCAA Tournament each season during his time there.

Jones landed in the high schools ranks after Bruce Pearl and the majority of his staff were fired in 2011 after an NCAA investigation into recruiting practices at Tennessee.

Jones leaves Alcoa with a 46 - 19 record.
