KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT/utsports.com) -- You would never know the Vols are slumping from the long line of students camped out at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Fans braved the cold and waited for doors to open, hoping to stake out a good seat for Saturday's Vols-Vandy game.
Students who attend will receive early admission to Saturday's noon tilt between the Vols and the Commodores.
Students were permitted to line up at the student gate at 5 p.m. Gates opened for one hour starting at 9 p.m., and the first 600 students were allowed to camp out. The athletics department provided free food, video game challenges, raffles, offered behind-the-scenes tours and a movie will be shown on the video board.
The first 450 students that entered received a free t-shirt provided by UniTe, an alumni organization.
ESPN College GameDay is set to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday leading up to the Vols' matchup with Vanderbilt. The Lady Vols play the second half of Saturday's doubleheader when they take on Vanderbilt at 8 p.m.
