KNOXVILLE (UTSports) -- The University of Tennessee Athletics Department hosted the fifth annual VOLSCARS at the Knoxville Convention Center.
The sports awards show recognizes the accomplishments of members throughout both the men's and women's athletics departments.
The VOLSCARS celebration is organized by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) under the direction of Jacqui Schuman, director of UT's CHAMPS program, as an opportunity to bring all of UT's student-athletes together. The evening includes dinner and performances by UT's student-athletes, as well as the presentation of awards that honor individual and team achievements on-and-off the fields of competition.
"It's really great that we all get an opportunity to see and honor each
other's achievements," UT men's basketball student-athlete Renaldo
This year's VOLSCARS were hosted by Charles Davis, a former UT
football letterwinner (1983-86). Currently a football analyst for Fox
Sports, Davis was a four-year starter at defensive back for the Vols and earned Academic All-SEC honors in 1986.
