ATLANTA, Ga. (WVLT) -- Florida beat Tennessee 85-74 in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals Friday, completing a three-game sweep of the Vols by the Gators.
Tobias Harris and Scotty Hopson combined for 44 points, but the Vols sent Florida to the line 37 times and shot 4-of-19 from long range, squandering a six-point second-half lead.
Florida led 27-16 with 9:03 left in the first half, but the Vols embarked on an 18-2 run to end the stanza, culminating in a Tobias Harris three-pointer with ten seconds left in the half to lead 34-29.
But defensive struggles allowed Florida to score 56 points in the second half and pull away from the Vols, who committed 27 fouls.
