Twice last season, Jerod Mayo took home SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors. And the accolades continue to come, in 2007 as well, with Mayo being named to the All-SEC PreSeason Team.
Last season, Mayo was third on the team with tackles at 83 … And he led the Vols in Sacks and Tackles For Lost Yards.
Mayo scored some 55 tackles in the Florida, Marshall, Alabama, South Carolina, and LSU Games combined.
His hard-hitting-style will likely continue in ’07.
