HOUSTON, Texas. (WVLT) -- Former Vol Arian Foster is downplaying his off-season decision to forgo eating meat or any other animal products.
"I don't know why it got so much attention," Foster said. "There's other vegans in the NFL."
For now, Houston Texan head coach Gary Kubiak says he isn't concerned about Foster's new vegan diet affecting his health or performance.
"I texted him about three weeks ago and said, `Hey Vegan, you in shape?"' Kubiak said. "He texted me back and said, `What the heck does that mean?' That's been our conversation, but he looks great."
The 25 year-old is entering his fourth year with the Texans and looking for his third straight 1,000 yard season. Foster rushed for more than 1,200 yards last year and over 1,600 yards in 2010.
