Bates chooses Tennessee

BEAVERTON, Oregon - Butch Jones has added another brick in the wall, so to speak, to the Vols 2014 recruiting class. 4-star linebacker Dillon Bates committed to Tennessee late Wednesday night.

Bates is the son of former Vol legend Bill Bates. Dillon says that the coaching staff played a big part in his decision to commit to Rocky Top. "That whole coaching staff has done a fantastic job with this past class and this class coming up. I'm just really impressed with what they've done. And all the hard work they've put in. I'm just ready to get up there and go to work," Bates says.

His commitment moved UT to the top of Rivals class of 2014 recruiting rankings with Texas, Alabama, Kentucky and Miami (FL) following.
