KNOXVILLE (WVLT) -- Former Tennessee All-American Eric Berry says he still thinks about what would have happened if he'd decided to return to Tennessee for his senior season.
"I still have that thought in the back of my mind," Berry said Friday at a football camp in West Knoxville. "What if I'd stayed another year? That's always in my mind. I love playing for UT and I love playing for the Chiefs, so it's a win-win situation."
Berry said he was proud of the team he left behind.
"The biggest thing I saw about last year's team was that they fought," Berry said. Whether it was LSU, North Carolina, whoever it was, they fought until the end of the game.
"They probably weren't on the same page with a lot of things, but that's gonna come with time. As long as they keep fighting and buying into the program, everything will be okay."
Berry is eagerly awaiting the end of the NFL lockout. He said he doesn't listen to media reports; he learns of the developments from his player rep.
"We don't know when [the lockout will end], but right around now we would be working out with the team, so I'm just making sure I'm staying in shape and getting ready for when they do lift the lockout," Berry said.
