KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Former Vol All-American Eric Berry returned to Knoxville to host a football camp in conjuction with D1 at Grace Christian. The camp drew 120 participants.
Berry, a Pro Bowl safety with the Kansas City Chiefs, holds camps in Atlanta, Kansas City, Chattanooga and Knoxville. Berry chooses the locations based on what cities mean something to him personally, "I just do them at the places where I feel like I am connected. So when I do come back it's more than just putting on a camp. It's more so, just giving back and I have a history with the area."
Berry also talked about his growing relationship with Butch Jones. Surprisingly the pair barely talk about football. "Most of the time we don't even talk about football. We talk about football a little bit, but usually he's just checking up on me. Seeing how I was doing. And I talk to him about his family. He asks me about mine. I think it's just getting to know each other. Know what I am saying. More so than just talking football all the time and I appreciate that too, as well," said Berry.
