KNOXVILLE (WVLT) -- Tennessee linebacker Austin Johnson doesn't want his recent arrest to cloud the way he's perceived by Tennessee fans.

"It was extremely immature of me. It wasn't who I am. I won't let this define who I am," Johnson said.

Johnson, a senior, was arrested for public intoxication July 24 following an incident on Cumberland Ave. near the UT campus. Vols coach Derek Dooley announced yesterday that Johnson would be disciplined internally and would not miss any practice time.

"I embarrassed my teammates. I embarrassed the fans. I embarrassed my family. I embarrassed my coaches," Johnson said. "I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I should have never been out that late."

"I just want to say I'm extremely sorry. I've got to move on from this and become a stronger person."
