KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Defensive lineman Malik Jackson and defensive back Prentiss Waggner are the only two Tennessee Volunteers among 82 players selected to the coaches' preseason All-Southeastern Conference teams.
Jackson was named to the first-team defense and is on the 2011 watch lists for the Bronko Nagurski Award, Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award. The senior from Northridge, Calif., had 48 tackles, including a team-high 11 tackles for loss, five sacks, five quarterback hurries and four pass break-ups last season.
Waggner was named to the third-team defense and is on the 2011 watch lists for the Chuck Bednarik Award, Lott IMPACT Trophy, Bronko Nagurski Award and Jim Thorpe Award. The junior from Clinton, La., returned three interceptions for touchdowns last season, which led the Football Bowl Subdivision and set a new Tennessee season record.
