Sources confirm Vols DL coach Lance Thompson leaving for Alabama

Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT) - Sources confirm to Local 8 Sports contributor Austin Price that Tennessee defensive line coach Lance Thompson is leaving the Vols to take a position on the Alabama coaching staff.

Thompson spent three years at Tennessee. Prior to his stint in Knoxville, Thompson spent two years on Nick Saban's staff at Alabama.

Thompson was considered a major addition to Tennessee's staff three years ago, when he left the Crimson Tide to join Lane Kiffin at Tennessee.
