KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tailback Toney Williams has left the Tennessee Volunteers.
Coach Derek Dooley said Monday the redshirt sophomore, who had just 11 yards on five carries last season, planned to transfer.
Senior defensive end Ben Martin, who has been recovering from February surgery on his right Achilles' tendon, is expected to practice when camp opens Tuesday. Martin didn't play last season after injuring his left Achilles' tendon in August.
Freshman offensive tackle Antonio Richardson is recovering from shoulder surgery and won't face contact in the first few days of practice. Dooley expects sophomore defensive end Jacques Smith, who has had two foot recent foot surgeries, to practice.
Dooley says it will be several months until junior linebacker Herman Lathers, who broke his ankle in June, will be available to practice and play.
