KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Vols released the depth chart on Thursday for their season opener against NC State in Atlanta on August 31st.
Notably absent from the roster was wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers. Football administration only had this to say about the most recent suspension for the star wide receiver.
"Junior wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers does not appear on the depth chart for the N.C. State game, as he has been suspended indefinitely because of a violation of team rules. His status for the remainder of the season is yet to be determined."
Not specified was the nature of the violation, or when it occurred.
The Junior has had a host of off the field issues in his career at Tennessee.
Coach Dooley did speak with the media after practice this morning saying this was a difficult decision and equates it to parenting.
He went on to say that there's nobody the team isn't prepared to play without and while Da'Rick is still a part of the team, they are preparing as if he won't play at all this season.
Teammate and Vols running back Rajion Neal also spoke saying "Alot of guys are hurt, it's heartbreaking to hear something like that, that close to game time. He's a baller, he's gonna be missed, it's unexplainable, a lot of folks are down. You can sense throughout the locker room that you really don't know about what's going on and why, but really were just like kids and all we know is that he's not gonna be out there."
