Before joining Local 8 News, I spent four years at WTVY-TV News 4 in Dothan, Alabama, where I anchored the morning show and reported. One of my best assignments was traveling to Iraq in October 2006 with the Army Corps of Engineers as an embedded journalist. I received Best News Anchor, Best Specialized Reporter and Best Series Reporter for my journalism there. I began my broadcasting career at KRCG-TV in Jefferson City, Missouri, producing the evening newscasts and reporting.
I grew up in North Georgia and graduated with honors from UGA in 2001. I was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. I also studied abroad in France.
The best part of my job is getting out in the community. I'm on the board of Friends of Literacy and the O'Connor Senior Center. You can always find me on the runway at local charity fashion shows!
In my spare time I love to travel. I love cruising with my husband Judson on his motorcycle and in the Caribbean. And sometimes, news break out...in fact, during our honeymoon in Paris, we had to spend an extra week when the Eyjafjallajokull Volcano in Iceland erupted, grounding every flight out of Europe.
I also love visiting with my family in the North Georgia Mountains, hanging out with my adorable niece Ellie, playing with my Chihuahua Sandy and running to keep fit.
Follow me on Facebook and Twitter and I look forward to hearing your story ideas.
