I have spent the past 10 years working in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for both WPDE-TV and WMBF-TV. While in Myrtle Beach, I've covered local, state and presidential politics, along with severe weather events like hurricanes, ice storms, wild fires and everything in between.
Most notably I covered the Myrtle Beach wildfire in 2009, where he stayed on the ground for days as dozens of homes were destroyed and thousands of acres of wooded areas burned. I also had the opportunity to travel to the area devastated by Hurricane Katrina on a relief mission put on by people in South Carolina for the hurricane victims.
I believe the news business is a public service want the stories I tell to be about you, the viewer. I want those stories to inform, educate, and help make your life better in some way.
I am a native of Loris, a small town outside of Myrtle Beach, SC, so I am a country boy at heart. I enjoy staying active in the community and love meeting fresh faces. In Myrtle Beach I helped a number of charitable organizations, including local high school bands and the humane society on fundraising events. I was honored to have served on the board of directors for an HIV support group plus an homeless less fortunate support organization in Myrtle Beach.
I was honored to be recognized on several occasions as a favorite local TV personality in the newspapers, and selected by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce as one of the areas friendliest to work with, with an ICE Award.
In my spare time I teach piano, and enjoy playing for weddings along with other events. I also have a love for the performing arts, so you may catch me taking in a theatre performance or two here in the Knoxville area.
I used to vacation in the Great Smokey Mountains, now I get to live here in East Tennessee. I also hope to get to know each of you as I make Tennessee my home. Please email me and let me know how I can help you along the way.
