I am happy to be back in the South after spending time out west working for KTNV in Las Vegas, NV. After several years in the desert, I am glad to be able to enjoy the greenery, lakes, rivers, and yes, even the humidity found in East Tennessee. Before Vegas, I worked at WTXL in Tallahassee and WRCB in Chattanooga.
My career has allowed me to report in almost every type of inclement weather; tropical storms, wildfires, 110+ degree heat, snow, wildfires, and thunderstorms. I've also covered my fair share of sports including a Super Bowl, the BCS National Championship, and Floyd Mayweather fights in the ring and in court! I've interviewed Governors, Senators and Hollywood celebrities, actors, comedians, and famous musicians. Financial giants have also stood on the other end of my microphone.
Despite all these interviews, my favorites have always been with regular folks in our communities: the 90-year-old grandmother who sews blankets for the needy, the 14-year-old brother who inspired his siblings after making it to the semi-finals of the National Spelling Bee or the parents who turn a tragic death into an opportunity to serve others. Ordinary people who do extraordinary things everyday. Those are the stories I enjoy sharing most.
I grew up in Houston, TX. After graduating from high school I spent two years in Spain. I came back to the U.S to study Broadcast Journalism at Brigham Young University. Four years of arctic winters in the Rocky Mountains was all this Texas boy could handle, so I quickly made my way back south.
In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my wife Cody (a local gal), and my golden retriever Jimmer. We all look forward to living in East Tennessee and discovering the best outdoor spots, the yummiest restaurants and the rowdiest places to cheer on the Vols! I also look forward to meeting you when I'm out and about!
