Alan Williams is a Local News Anchor and the Tennessee Traveler.

I'm truly blessed to be going into my 33rd year in the broadcast business and living in my hometown of Knoxville.

My career began in 1979 at WBIR as weekend Sports Anchor. After a stint in Alabama, I came back home as Sports Director at WATE then Sports Director of WIVK radio. During that period, I also hosted a TNN country dance show called, "Dance Line."

My career took another turn when I came onboard WKXT in 1988 (now WVLT) to host a new show called "Noonday". And that led to my role as a prime news anchor.

Growing up, I was always interested in sports. I earned a football scholarship to the University of Florida and was drafted as a punter for the New York Jets.

I'm married to the former Rebecca Jackson, a former Vol Football Hostess. Between us we have five children.

In my spare time I enjoy sports, running , reading and sharing time with the family, three dogs and two horses.

I am a member of the Screen Actors' Guild, and a member of the Country Music Association.

I am also the spokesperson for the Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Knoxville, Advisory member of the Knoxville Nativity Pageant, Knoxville Area United Way board member as well as board member for Positively Living and Love All Tennis.

Thanks for inviting me into your home every night and for sharing stories that touch our lives.
