Michele joined the WVLT family in March 2010 as Bob Yarbrough's co-anchor on East Tennessee This Morning. However, she is no stranger to East Tennessee. She has been covering the area since December 2000. She loves the mountains, the lakes and most of all the people! Prior to Knoxville, Michele was a morning anchor and reporter at KIII-TV in Corpus Christi, Texas. Her thrill was covering the hurricanes that rocked the gulf coast. But her first reporting gig was as a one man band reporter at a local cable station in her hometown area of New Bedford, MA. Mother Teresa and John Kennedy Junior are her two all time favorite interviews.
After graduating from Lyndon State College with a B.S. in Communications, Michele also held a job at WBSM radio in New Bedford/Fairhaven, MA. She worked part time as a news reporter/anchor at the radio station and in cable television. Then she moved on to become a production assistant, editor, photographer and program host for New Bedford Cable Access in the mid 90's (before moving to Texas.) She misses the sand and surf of the east and gulf coasts but loves the lakes in East Tennessee!
Her dog, Fritz, a Lhasa Apso, loves long walks at Cherokee Boulevard and in her neighborhood.
She feels blessed to call East Tennessee home...
