Sports anchor and reporter
I've had the fortune of being a part of the Sports Overtime Team and Knoxville's biggest sports TV staff since February of 2005. After growing up an Air Force brat and living in places such as Louisiana, Texas, Wyoming, and Germany, it's great to do what I do here in East Tennessee. It's this part of the country that I call home. (Go Heritage Mountaineers! Class of '93).
After graduating from the University of Tennessee in 1997 (there were tons of cameras at my graduation... I think it had something to do with the fact that Peyton Manning was in my graduating class) I landed my first on-air position in December of 1997. That's when I packed my bags (and snow shovel) and headed to the Midwest, where I served as KTVO's weekend sports anchor in the Kirksville, MO/Ottumwa, IA market. After just six months in "America's heartland" my career took me back to Knoxville, and for two years, I was a sports reporter/photographer for a station here in town. Two years later, it was time again to pack the bags, as I accepted the position of sports director for KAIT-TV in Jonesboro, AR. I was with KAIT for nearly five years, which brings us to the present.
I've won broadcasting awards, been nominated for an Emmy, covered two Super Bowls and UT's 1998 national championship game, and interviewed some of the biggest names in sports, but the biggest joy I get out of my job is telling your stories to the living rooms East Tennessee.
When I'm not working, you might find me spending time with my beautiful wife, shankin' a drive on the golf course, camping, taking a road trip, or just talking sports with anyone willing to listen!
I always enjoy hearing from our viewers and reading what they have to say, or answering any questions they might have, so feel free to email me.
