Sports anchor and reporter

I'm an East Tennessee guy happy and fortunate to be making a living in East Tennessee. However, before working in the shadows of Neyland Stadium, my career has had plenty of twists and turns.

Prior to arriving at WVLT in 2005, I was in Jonesboro, Ark., where I was KAIT's sports director for nearly five years. I was also part of the FOX 43 news launch in 1998. My on-air career began in the Kirksville, Mo./Ottumwa, Ia.,market where I was KTVO's weekend sports anchor.

My career has taken me to the Vols' 1998 national championship game in Tempe, to two Super Bowls (35 and 41), the Final Four, and the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

While at WVLT, I've covered major stories like Phillip Fulmer's firing (which included a memorable, live interview with the legendary Johnny Majors), Lane Kiffin's middle-of-the-night departure, and Bruce Pearl's infamous backyard barbecue. However, it's the stories of those athletes that aren't making national news that I enjoy telling the most.

I'm always open to any story ideas you think East Tennessee should know about - you can email me or you can follow me on Twitter or Facebook (use the icons to click through).

I'm a 1993 graduate of Heritage High School in Blount County and a 1997 graduate of the University of Tennessee.

Away from work, my biggest joy is being Dylan's dad. I also enjoy golfing, fishing, playing cards, road trips, movies, and my DVR.
