Local 8 Weather Chief Meteorologist
I joined WVLT-TV in Knoxville, TN as Chief Meteorologist in May 2010. I am very proud to call East Tennessee home.
I also love the challenge of forecasting the weather for the Valley, the Smokies and the Plateau. From hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, ice storms and lake effect snow, I've seen quite a bit of weather over the years.
Here's a list of my previous on-air jobs:
WTXF-TV (Fox 29) in Philadelphia - four years ending October 2009
Weekend weather anchor for "Fox 29 News at Six," "Fox 29 News at Ten"
Produced and reported weather three days a week on "Good Day Philadelphia" and "FOX 29 News at Noon."
Award: Delaware Today magazine's Best T.V. Weatherperson (critics choice) - July 2007
WHAM-TV 13 (ABC) in Rochester, NY - over four years ending September 2005 Morning and Noon Meteorologist
WHAM NewsRadio 1180 AM in Rochester, NY - three years ending September 2005
WSAZ-TV 3 (NBC) in Huntington-Charleston, WV - two years ending June 2001
WNCN-TV 17 (NBC) in Raleigh, NC - three months ending June 1999
I hold the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation from the American Meteorological Society (AMS), which is a professional recognition of the quality of my weather broadcasts.
I also hold the Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association (NWA)
Born and raised in Wilmington, DE, I attended the University of Delaware before transferring to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in radio, television and motion pictures in 1992. I then attended North Carolina State University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology in 1999.
Once a member of the Screen Actors' Guild, I guest starred on an episode of "Matlock," appeared in the movie "Dead Poets' Society" as a featured extra, and starred in a Veterans' Life Insurance commercial with Roger Staubach.
I love to visit schools and encourage young people to learn about math and science.
