WVLT-TV has partnerships with many cable systems in East Tennessee and Southeast
Kentucky. Many people have, subscribed to a cable company for more viewing choices.
In most cases WVLT-TV signal is received, processed and then rebroadcast by
the cable company. WVLT-TV monitors and logs the quality of its signal at all
times. This insures that only the very highest quality audio and video signals
are being broadcast.
If you are experiencing trouble
with your cable provided WVLT signal and you contact the cable company, they
may tell you that the problem is with WVLT not the cable company. In many cases
this is incorrect. We have found most cable company personnel to be very fair
and attentive, however it is not uncommon for them to assume that if there has
not been a problem diagnosed as theirs, it must be the station. It is also not
uncommon for cable technicians to be in the process of repairing a cable problem
or to know that they have a fix coming soon but have not had a chance to alert
customer service to the issue. In any case it is not our desire to have our viewers
inconvenienced by a perceived run around.
If you are told that the problem
is with the station or if the problems persist please email Chief engineer Doug
Stallard at Doug.email@example.com
for immediate attention. He will in turn determine the origin of the problem,
and if necessary contact the cable company on your behalf to try to get the
problem resolved.Keep in mind that when the station is experiencing technical
difficulties the technicians are busy working on that issue and will be unavailable
for complaints via telephone. It is very important that viewers include a name,
return telephone number and address along with the exact nature of the complaint
so that it can be resolved rapidly.
