The U.S. Department of Energy is now seeking volunteers to fill upcoming vacancies on the Oak Ridge Site Specific Advisory Board—an independent citizen’s panel advising the Department on environmental cleanup issues on the Oak Ridge Reservation. Technical expertise is not required for membership, as a broad range of backgrounds and viewpoints is preferred. Information and applications are available at www.energy.gov/orssab. Beardsley Farm's 9th Annual Snow Day

The 9th annual Snow Day, a CAC Beardsley Community Farm Benefit, will be hosted at Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria at 7 pm on Friday, January 27th.

CAC Beardsley Community Farm is Knoxville's only urban demonstration farm that helps get fresh, healthy, local food to Knoxville's under-served communities.

Snow Day will feature seven performances by a diverse group of local musicians, a soup contest between some of Knoxville's finest restaurants, a Homegrown and Homemade Beard Pageant, and a silent auction. We want to ask and encourage local artisans, businesses, and organizations to participate in the large silent auction by donating prizes.

It's Your Career: Tips for Public Speaking

 Friday, January 27, 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., “It’s Your Career: Tips for Public Speaking,” will be a part of an ongoing series of Soft Skill workshops designed to take your career to the next level. Soft Skills are strengthened and developed over time and are necessary if you desire to climb the career ladder. The classes are a collaboration of Blount Partnership, Adult Education Foundation of Blount County and the Blount County Public Library. Bring your laptop or tablet, or one will be provided for your use. Class format features a short lecture on each topic, case studies discussion in small groups and resources for use in businesses and organizations. This class will be at the Blount County Public Library’s new Learning Lab. Class Registration opens December 19.
