Thursday, June 1 through Thursday, July 27, “Beginning of the inaugural #BCPLHistoryHunt.” The inaugural #BCPLHistoryHunt is a scavenger hunt that highlights some of the most historically important structures and places in Maryville. The hunt will continue from Thursday, June 1 through July 27, for eight weeks, and will run from Thursday to Thursday of each week. Weekly winners will be announced at 12 p.m. on the Friday after deadline for each week. (Example, the first week starts Thursday, June 1 and will end Thursday, June 8 and on Friday, June 9 will be the first drawing for the winner to be announced.) The library will announce a new clue each week of the eight weeks, and the eight clues will be distributed via Facebook. Historic locations are within Maryville, and once the locations are found, participants should post a selfie to their own Instagram page and use the tag #BCPLHistoryHunt. (Please do not post the name of the building when it is found). All ages are welcome to join in this fun-filled scavenger hunt. If you are under age 18 and want your picture to be used on library social media, please go to the library with a parent for a signed consent so that your photo can be used. The Friday after each week is up, the library will announce the name of the building as well as draw a name for a weekly prize, with all patrons who participate in finding the clues for that month being entered into the Grand Prize drawing at the end of the Summer Reading Program on Monday July 31, at 6:15 p.m., just before the Shakespeare play.
