WVLT Pinpoint 8 Weather Center -- Light snow expected across East Tennessee and Eastern Kentucky has resulted in a Winter Weather Advisory for 7 p.m. Sunday through 7 p.m. Monday.
A strong system and cold front will cause snow showers to develop Sunday night and into Monday.
Snowfall amounts North of the Knoxville area will range from 1 to 4 inches.
Snowfall may reach 3 to 6 inches by Monday afternoon across the higher elevations of Northeast Tennessee, the Smoky Mountains, Southwestern Virginia, and Eastern Kentucky.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow are expected, but accumulations are expected to be light.
Driving may be difficult on untreated roads, so be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
If you must drive, slow down and allow extra time, and be safe out there.
